LSD, TP

The opening act was unknown to me and there was no MC to introduce her. She may or may not have been talented but I did notice that half the audience was wandering around: getting food, chatting and whatever else but not paying attention. From what I could hear she had a good voice and the musicianship was solid. Too bad she didn't receive any attention from the venue staff. LSD (kinda funny) was excellent. They had more of a rock'n vibe than I expected which was good because it kept the audience engaged and the energy level high. They played enough standards to satisfy but enough new material to be interesting. From start to finish they built a really solid show: building up with rocking numbers then slowing it down a bit. I particularly liked it when they gathered around the mike to do a great take on old style be-bop numbers. Personally I wish they had performed "This Magic Moment" but that's my issue. I really enjoyed myself. However I was not impressed with the venue. I have seen several shows at SPAC and the organization and layout is much better there. For example at TP (right?) when you were seated you couldn't see anything. And what's up with the low slung chair rule? there were low slung chairs there that ended up being higher that any chairs I have. Also, if you pay for parking (which I did) you kind of expect there to be traffic control on the way out. Here there was chaos until you got to the actual exit. That was poorly done. Don't get me wrong, the staff was friendly and helpful if not particularly knowledgeable. Overall a great show and I would go to a LSD concert anytime I could. I may or may not go back to TP as I was not impressed
